Background to the PCWM

Pacific Island nations (including Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands, and Niue) have had a remarkable heritage in the fact that not only whole island nations were transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but also that these nations were fully involved in taking the Gospel to those that had not heard. This resulted in the Pacific Islands being fully reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in just under fifty years.

The first wave of the Pacific mission movement went as far as Papua New Guinea. It did not go beyond. But a new movement is gathering momentum in the Pacific. It is a frontier mission movement, to go beyond the Pacific, to take the Gospel where it has not been preached.

Pasifika Centre for World Missions (PCWM) is an initiative that emerged out of prayers and conversations between Taubale Toki, David Hall, and Kalafi Moala, to set up a centre to assist in facilitating from Auckland, New Zealand the movement among Pacific Islanders to reach the unreached nations of the world.

PCWM is also acting as the secretariat for the Pacific2Nations conference to be held in Manukau, Auckland, New Zealand on November 8 & 9, 2013.
